False Positives from Anti Virus Software

It happens regularly that one or more Virus scanners detect Virus / Malware signatures in Gpg4win.

If your Anti Virus Software claims that Gpg4win contains a Malware signature you should:

Verify the integrity of the downloaded file (to ensure that it was manipulated on transfer)
Notify the publisher of your Anti Virus Software that you think this might be a False Positive.

Additionally virustotal.com helps to get an overview about the results from other scanners in the past it was mostly just 1-5 Scanners that found (often times different) signatures. If your Scanner is one of the outliers this is a good indicator that it is indeed a False Positive.
